Há em inglês várias expressões para expressar a ideia de que alguém teve um ataque de nervos inexplicado. Em português geralmente dizemos coisas como: ter um piti, ter um chilique, ter um treco, ter um fricote, ter um faniquito e sabe-se lá o que mais. » THROW A TANTRUM – geralmente usada para expressar a ideia de que alguém ficou/está puto da vida em determinado momento, mas sem razão aparente. Trata-se daquela situação na qual as demais pessoas não entendem o motivo que levou alguém a dar uns gritos ou agir de forma grosseira com outra pessoa.
When you are a grown-up, you don’t throw a tantrum if something offends you, you discuss it. (Quando se é adulto, não se dá um piti caso algo o ofenda, discuti-se o assunto.)
If I could throw a tantrum any time I wish, life would be way easier. (Se eu pudesse dar piti quando eu bem quisesse, a vida seria muito melhor.)
A family was kicked off the plane because the child was throwing a tantrum. (Uma família foi retirada do avião pois o filho deles estava dando piti.)
Devo acrescentar aqui ainda que é comum enfatizarmos essa expressão dizendo ”throw a temper tantrum“. Essa combinação pode ser traduzida por “ter/dar um piti e tanto” ou “ter/dar um chilique daqueles“.
» PITCH A FIT – Essa expressão é usada em algumas regiões dos Estados Unidos.
Boy, you shoulda seen Sidney pitch a fit when we told him what happen to his car. (Cara, tu tinha que ter visto o Sidney tendo um piti quando a gente falou o que aconteceu com o carro dele.)
She pitched a fit, just because she didn’t get the prize. (Ela deu o maior fricote, só porque não ganhou o prêmio.)
Além de PITCH A FIT também podemos dizer HAVE A FIT ou THROW A FIT.
She’ll have a fit when she knows you broke the window! (Ela vai dar o maior piti quando souber que você quebrou a janela!)
» HAVE A COW - essa é a expressão favorita do Bart Simpson. Aliás, é por causa dele que essa expressão existe.)
Come on, don’t have a cow about this! (Qualé, não vá ter um chilique por causa disso!)
» FLIP OUT - se a coisa for grave pode-se dizer: flip the fuck out. Eu desaconselho o uso de the fuck nessa expressão. Afinal, fuck é um dos piores palavrões em inglês.
My mom would totally flip [the fuck] out if she caught my boyfriend in my bedroom with me. (Minha mãe ia ter um faniquito [do caralho] se pegasse meu namorado comigo no quarto.)

Alicia Augello Cook
(born January 25, 1981), known professionally as Alicia Keys, is an
American R&B singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and
actress. Keys released her debut album with J Records,
having had previous record deals first with Columbia
and then Arista Records. Keys' debut album, Songs
in A Minor, was a commercial success, selling over 12 million copies
worldwide.[2]
She became the best-selling new artist and best-selling R&B artist of 2001.[3]
The album earned Keys five Grammy Awards in 2002, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for "Fallin'"
becoming the second American recording artist to win five Grammys in one night.[4]
Her second studio album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, was released
in 2003 and was also another success worldwide, selling eight million copies.[5]
The album garnered her an additional four Grammy Awards in 2005.[6]
Later that year, she released her first live album, Unplugged, which debuted at
number one in the United States.[7]
She became the first female to have an MTV
Unplugged album to debut at number one and the highest since Nirvana
in 1994.[3]
Keys
made guest appearances on several television series in the following years,
beginning with Charmed.
She made her film debut in Smokin'
Aces which included Ben Affleck, Andy Garcia, Chris Pine, Ryan
Reynolds, Taraji P. Henson, Jeremy Piven and also went on to appear in The Nanny Diaries which starred
Scarlett Johannson, Laura Linney, Paul Giamitti and Chris Evan in 2007. Her
third studio album, As I Am, was released in the same year and sold five
million copies worldwide, earning Keys an additional three Grammy Awards. The
following year, she appeared in The Secret Life of Bees with Eva
Longoria, Jennifer Hudson, Paul Bettany, Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah which
earned her a nomination at the NAACP
Image Awards. She released her fourth album, The Element of Freedom, in December
2009, which became Keys' first chart-topping album in the United Kingdom. She
released her fifth album, Girl on Fire, in November 2012, which
became Keys' fifth chart-topping album in the United States.
Throughout
her career, Keys has won numerous awards
and has sold over 35 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide.[8]Billboard magazine named her the top
R&B songs artist of the 2000s decade. In 2010, VH1 included Keys on its
list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[9]Billboard
magazine placed her number ten on their list of Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists
of the Past 25 Years.[10]BlackBerry (formerly RIM) named her as its
Global Creative Director at the Blackberry 10 Experience event in New
York City on January 30, 2013. Keys then opened Super
Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 3, 2013,
by singing the U.S. National Anthem. At the 55th annual
Grammy Awards, Keys performed with Maroon 5
